Spicy Chickpea Curry

A hearty and flavorful plant-based curry packed with protein-rich chickpeas and warm spices.

Ingredients:

  • Protein: 1 can (400g) Chickpeas (drained and rinsed).

  • Base: 1/2 cup Tomato purée, 1 small Onion (diced), 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste.

  • Spices: 1 tsp Cumin, 1 tsp Turmeric, 1 tsp Chili powder, 1 tsp Garam masala.

  • Garnish: Fresh cilantro and a squeeze of Lemon.

Instructions:

  1. Base: Sauté the onion in a splash of water or oil until translucent. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste for 1 minute.

  2. Spice: Add all the dry spices and toast for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Simmer: Pour in the tomato purée and 1/2 cup of water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Cook: Add the chickpeas, cover, and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.

  5. Finish: Stir in fresh cilantro and lemon juice before serving.
